Joey & Pacey

I'm sorry that I called. I thought that I...
I'm not mad that you called me, I just want to know why you called me.
You were the first person that I thought of, Pacey.
What does that mean, Jo?
It means that... I guess it- - it means that I can talk to you, and that you're there for me...
Don't you ever get tired of talking?
No. I don't.
Well I get tired of talking.
I don't get tired. I don't...
I don't want to talk anymore.
What are you trying to say, Pacey? Why are we standing out...
(Pacey moves towards Joey, takes her face in his hands, and kisses her. Fade to black.)
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

We have to stop doing this, it's wrong.
(he breaks away, then goes back to kissing her neck) Yes, dead wrong.
Pacey. Look, we've been in denial all week. I mean, when we're around other people we pretend like nothing's changed and the minute we're alone it turns into this.
This what?
This embarrassing grope- fest.
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

Well, it’s the history. I mean, how can a guy compete when the two of you have your own karaoke routine?
Pacey, you’re not supposed to compete. We’re supposed to have our own history... I didn’t mean that.
Well, what did you mean?
I don’t even know anymore, Pacey.
You know this little arrangement we got going between us?
Yes?
Well, it sucks! It sucks up one side and down the other. It’s uncomfortable, it’s weird, and I hate every single second of it.
Weird?
Yes!
Then why did you come here, Pacey?
You know, for a bright girl, you can be really daft sometimes. Why do you think I came here?
I don't- -
I came here to be with you! It's as simple as that. When you like somebody, proximity is a good thing, regardless of how they feel about you... or don't, as the case may be.
Look, I felt it.
What?
This morning. Your arm brushed up against me in bed and... and I felt it.
How did it feel?
Made me feel alive.
OK. Joey, I'm going to kiss you now.
You can't.
Jo, you can't say something like that to me and expect me not to kiss you. So that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to kiss you in about 10 seconds. And if you don't want me to kiss you... Well, if you don't want me to, I guess then you're just gonna have to stop me. (walks over to her and slowly leans in to kiss her) Ten.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

How come this feels do right?
I think it was those dance lessons. (they both smile, not noticing that Andie is watching them closely)
(reaches to touch her earrings) Where did you get those? They’re not you. (Pacey's hand drops away from her ear, gently touching one of her loose hairs)
Why, because I’m just a poor tomboy... or because Dawson gave them to me? Neither. (he reaches down and touches the bracelet that she's wearing) See this? This is you. It’s not showy or gawdy. It’s simple. Elegant. (taking her hand in his) Beautiful.
It’s my mom’s bracelet.
I know.
How do you know?
Well, because you told me. Six months ago. You were wearing that blue sweater with the snowflakes that you have. You were walking down the hallway at school. I was annoying you as per usual. You said, ‘Look, Pacey, I just found my mother’s bracelet this morning, so why don’t you cut me some slack?’
You remember that?
(softly) I remember everything.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

I think I’m in love with you.
You think or you know?
I know. (Pacey turns around to face Joey and smiles) I’ve known it since the moment you kissed me and maybe even before that. As scary as it is, I don’t want to deny it anymore, Pacey. I don’t want to run from it and I don’t want to let it run from me.
So… what are we going to do here, Jo?
I want to come with you.
What? Are you crazy?
(shaking her head) I want to stop standing still, I want to move forward, I want to come with you.
What about Bessie and the B&B? They need you.
Not as much as I need you, Pacey.
(He smiles widely and she smiles back. She takes a step toward the boat to try and climb aboard.)
(stopping her) Ah- ah- ah!
(she smiles and holds out her hand to him) Permission to come aboard?
Permission granted.
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

Whatever it takes, we're gonna get through it. Everything's gonna be ok.
How can you be so sure?
I'm not going anywhere without you.
You love me.
You bug me.
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

I want to be with you! I want to stay here and be with you.
Well, if you want to be with me, then staying here would be a really stupid thing to do, because I don't plan to be here. I plan to be wherever you are.
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

I reacted like...Pacey.
You know who that guy you reacted like is gonna be in ten years, Pace? The person who knows me best. Dawson knows my past...My future lies with you.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

Pacey. This is about how you carried my bag off the bus yesterday. This is about how when we go the the movies, you go and by popcorn. You always make sure to bring back a napkin so I won't wipe all the grease of my jeans. This is about how just last week when we were at miniature golf, you took all the shots first so I would know the crack of path. You taught me how to drive. And last year prom, you knew the bracelet I was wearing was my mom's. You kissed me first sweetheart. And the second time, you counted to ten before doing it again just in case I wanted to stop you. You bought me a wall.
I didn't buy so much...
And when we where alone on the boat for three months you understood without a word why I wasn't ready. Do you have to ask me now why I am? Pace... I'm gonna count to ten and I'm gonna start kissing you. And if you don't want me to, you just gonna have to stop me... Ten, my love.
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

I think I need to go live life on my own for a little while. But that certainly doesn't mean this is how I want it to end between us. So, hypothetically speaking... If I were lucky enough to own a sailboat again, and I asked the woman I love to go sailing with me, would she?
You wouldn't have to ask, Pace.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

What you said earlier was right. I never did. How could I? Just look at you...
You know what else we never did? (she leans up and kisses him, then lays back down and closes her eyes) Your turn now.
(smiles and kisses her forehead) Sweet dreams, Jo.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

You've wanted to kiss me all night?
Yes.
Even when you were yelling at me?
Especially when I was yelling at you.
What I know is that you and I were one of the few things, if not the only thing, that ever made complete and total sense in my life. That's what I know.
In any case, what you said was right. There are about a thousand reasons why you and I would never work out.
There's one thing in the pro column though.
What's that?
(Joey climbs out of her sleeping bag and into his and kisses him)
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

Bad timing. You're on your way out.
No, it's - - cosmic timing. I was on my way to see you.
Do you regret it?
That depends. On whether you regret hearing it.
It's hard to regret something that's already been in the back of your mind.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm not going to look at you and think of everything that happened. I'm going to look at you and think about everything that could.
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

That whole jealousy thing wasn't exactly my finest hour.
I actually kinda liked that.
You were just hoping she and I would wrestle.
When you're five feet away from me, or twenty- five feet away from me for that matter, there's pretty much only one thing I want to do.
Do tell.
(He leans in and kisses her)
- Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

I asked if it bothered you.
No. It doesn't bother me.
It bothers you.
It does not bother me. It bothers you. You just want it to bother me, too.
Okay, then what's bothering you?
You.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

What makes a woman horny?
You’re polar opposite.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

You know it’s amazing a personality like yours and you can’t get any dates.
Even more amazing a personality like yours and you can.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

No matter how much I love you or how long I stay with you, you're only gonna remember the moments when I leave.
Well, you gotta give me that much, because those are pretty much the most painful moments in my life.
That's because you ask for them, Pacey. I'm sorry. You do. Your whole life, you spend so much time expecting the worst that you don't even notice the moments when people are loving you, and, Pacey, people spend a lot of time loving you.
-Joey Potter & Pacey Witter
-Dawson’s Creek

You're off the hook.
What?
You're off the hook. I've never believed in that if you love someone let them go nonsense, as evidenced by everything I've ever done in my life up until this very moment, but I'm determined to be happy, Joey. Happy in this life. And I love you.. I have always, always loved you, but our timing has never been right. And time is no man's friend, so I have to get right with that and be happy, now. Cuz this is it. This is all we get... I also want you to be happy. Really work for me to be happy. I want you to be with someone, whether it be Dawson or New York guy or some man you haven't even met yet, but I want you to be with someone who can be a part of the life you want for yourself, and I want you to be with someone who can make you feel the way I feel when I'm with you. So the point to this long run- on sentence that's been the last ten years of our lives is just that the simple act of being in love with you is enough for me. So you're off the hook.
You know, for the record, I don't want to be let off the hook. Everything I've done in my life has led me here, right now, and the last thing I want, need or deserve is to be let off somebody's hook-
Please don't miss my point-
And don't miss mine. Pacey.. I love you. You know that. And it's very real. It's so real that it's kept me moving- mostly running- from it, never ready for it. And I love Dawson. He's my soulmate, he's tied to my childhood. It's a love that's pure and eternally innocent. I can't be let off the hook because I just might get the notion that it's ok to keep running.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

Come, just a little bit farther, right up here. A few more steps. Right here, whoa, stop, right there. Perfect. We're here.
Pacey, I don't know where you think 'here' is, but it seems to me, we're nowhere.
Think back with me for just a second. Do you remember how this whole thing started? It started with a girl, a wall, and a paint brush. (Pacey holds up a paint brush)
You bought me a paint brush?
No, lame- o! I stole this from your permanent collection. (pointing to the wall in front of them)
You bought me a wall?
Not bought, rented. And this thing didn't come cheap, either. It cost me 100 bucks.
You bought me a wall?
You said that already. Look, it's a limited time offer, so you should get cracking.
Pacey, did you fail to notice the size of this thing?
I just thought your next endeavor should be bigger and better than your last one. So you keep on growing both as a person and as an artist. I also got you this, (holding up a can of paint) now I know it's not going to cover the whole thing, but as the saying goes, 'The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step.'
Well, I'm gonna need your help on this one.
No, no, no, no. Not this time. You're on your own, sister.
Pacey, you're unbelievable. I mean, as soon as I think I've got you all figured out, you go and you do something so outrageous that, it completely challenges me in a way that no one else would even think of. In case I don't say it enough, thank you.
It's about time, Potter. It's about time.
- Pacey Witter & Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

Technically I sorta, maybe, let him do it to me. But I still blame him entirely.
- Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

My heart? That's a fixed point. Three months riding the open waters couldn't shake it, I'll be damned if I let your insecurities shake it. My heart never left this boat. It's never left you.
- Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

Just, can you do me a favor? In the future, when you're making life or death decisions? Remember that you're thinking for two.
- Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

You're so cute when you're delusional.
- Joey Potter
- Dawson’s Creek

Wanna know something Miss Joey Potter? I think the world may just surprise you yet. I mean you fall in love and it doesn't work out and you think that it will never happen again, but it does. Believe me, it does. In the strangest of places.
- Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

Yeah, she is pretty. She is very, very pretty. She's actually the kind of pretty that gives you butterflies, you know what I mean?
- Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

You might be too afraid to make it but let’s face it. The choice to be together or not be together has always been down to you.
- Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

If by some slim chance you kissed me back you’d probably have been thinking of someone else, right?
- Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

When you like someone proximity is a good thing. Regardless of how they may feel about you…… or not as the case may be.
- Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

Okay. She's so beautiful, that every time you look at her, your knees tremble, your heart just melts, and you know right then and there, without any reservation, that there is order and meaning to the universe
- Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

When I was afraid of everything else, I was never afraid to love you.
- Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek

I’ve kinda got this problem.
So I’ve noticed.
Is it that obvious?
It’s starting to be.
D’ya think we can pretend like it’s not?
Only if we pretend to have a conversation about it.
You’re really gonna make me do this? Okay, okay; let’s make believe I’ve gotten myself into an impossible situation. Pretend like I’ve…… I’m sorta falling or have fallen for the worst person I could ever have fallen for. What would you tell me to do?
I’d tell you that any impossible situation is not gonna get any better if you don’t do something about it.
- Pacey Witter & Jennifer Lindley
- Dawson’s Creek

That's where he got it all wrong; the eternal triangle that's based on actual events? It was never about Sam making a decision between Colby and Petey. It's about Sam making a decision for herself.
Can we just use their real names here? There's no need to protect the guilty in this room.
It's just sad that it took a tv show for me to see it.
See what? I'm terribly interested in all of this.
The only decision left is the one I have to make with myself. Stop running, once and for all. I know who I'm supposed to be with. I've always known.
- Joey Potter & Jennifer Lindley
- Dawson’s Creek

I recognize a Joey- trance when I see one.
It is definitely nice to have her around again. When she's around I just feel.. I feel more alive. I think people underestimate that.
- Jennifer Lindley & Pacey Witter
- Dawson’s Creek
